All Nitida models are equipped with a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) accelerator for running advanced video analytics on-edge.

In Artificial Intelligence, a neural network is a model inspired by the human brain capable to quickly and accurately recognize objects. Hence Nitida cameras can detect people and vehicles (classifying cars, motorcycles, bicycles, trucks and buses) and track their movement to provide the most important perimeter protection features: intrusion, loitering and tripwire.

These features are managed through a dedicated web page UI. For example, it is possible to draw a perimeter on the screen ad receive an alarm when a person or a vehicle enters.

AI is becoming very important to solve real problems and to avoid false alarms. Performing video-analytics applications directly on Nitida 2.0, Nitida 5K and Nitida 4K, there is no need to connect the camera to an external server for data processing as usually happens in video surveillance systems. A lighter infrastructure also means improved scalability and lower costs.

Using Nitida’s very high resolution of 9, 16 and 20 megapixels, it will be possible to cover a very large area using a single camera and potentially select where to perform video-analytics applications.

Nitida 5K camera provides an image resolution of 16 MP at 25 Fps with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Nitida 4K is more precisely a 4K2K camera, because it goes beyond the standard UltraHD resolution, reaching 9 MP at 25 Fps with a 17:9 image ratio.

With Nitida Series cameras it is possible to cover very large portions of different contexts, both indoors – such as shopping centers, arenas, stations – and outdoors, for example stadiums, squares, airports, using fewer cameras and spending less money. NITIDA 2.0 camera is now ONVIF profile T compliant supporting advanced camera settings and H.265 video streaming on any ONVIF T compatible client.

ONVIF is an international standard for cameras and other security devices, which makes it possible to use and switch different hardware and software without impacting the whole system  functionality.

NITIDA 2.0 is the Spark’s camera that merges a very high resolution (20 Mp) with a superior frame rate (25 Fps), a unique combination for dynamic, high-quality images in large spaces.

The H.265 compression offers better data compression at the same level of video quality. ONVIF profile T additionally allows changing the image settings of NITIDA 2.0 such as brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, and makes user authentication safer.

With Nitida 2.0 it is possible to get a timelapse and compress hours or even days of footage into just a few seconds or minutes. Timelapse is the solution for capturing moments that happen in an extended period of time, such as people and car flow in a specific area or a construction site development.

You can set up the image capturing frequency from 1 per minute to 1 per day, also using a weekly schedule. For example, it is possible to capture one frame every 5 minutes, from Monday to Friday, from 6 am to 7 pm. All these images can be saved in a folder for the final export.

Nitida 2.0 ports

Nitida 2.0 has two Micro SD slots and one 3.0 USB port for external hard disks. The camera can be placed in an appropriate case for any outdoor application.

Nitida 2.0 camera

Micro Four Thirds system (often shortened in MFT , M4:3 or M4/3) makes it possible to exchange lenses according to context and needs, taking more control over the field of view.

In the past few years, the security world has been using this new technology to take advantage of higher sensor resolution while maintaining wide-angle capacity and avoiding the vignetting effect.

It’s possible to choose between motorized, manual and fixed lenses, with optical image stabilizer in some cases. For example, from the same distance but with different M4/3 lenses, you can monitor the car traffic on a roadway using 150 pixels per meter or exploit a density of 330 px/m to read the license plates of the cars in the entry lane. In the same way, it’s possible to see what happens in a 50-meters wide square or decide to deeply watch a 4-meters area of interest.

There are different manufacturers of Micro Four Third lenses such as Olympus and Panasonic. All MFT lenses are extremely handy and robust and are relatively cheap thanks to the open standard. They are interchangeable between different brands because adopting the same mount system.
